Oops! We missed our last saturday show, we appologize, and get a grip by spreading 1 hour of good music live from home. The next show is planned in 2 weeks from the new restored 666 studios!!! We'd like also to thank all of those who posted comments, you're always welcome!
This is the return of the Prog' adventures of Clovis! After a long hiatus, he's back with a brillant and elegant selection of French records from 1977 to 1997! Thrilled to hear that those sounds tune perfectly with the automn season... Appreciate!

by Dennis Wiley This week focus on 2 French records made for jazz lessons. Dennis Wiley used to be the composer and pianist for THE PETERS SISTERS in the 50's and 60's. When the band has splited, he recorded and composed numerous scores for dance shows and ballets all over the world. JAZZ TRACK lp is played by a trio, piano, bass and drums. Maybe you should start by listening to "Things are gonna change"(the chorus reminds me Cortex's"Mary & Jeff" atmosphere),
the intense"Barrio Chino" and "Karaté walk", which are, to me, the best tracks...
And then if you're seduced, you will like the rest! I've upload 6 cuts from the lp...
LA CLASSE DE JAZZ directed by Janet Pidoux This one is "obscureless", but is worth'while to figures here on this choice...
It's a duet here: organ and drums! And let me take the wraps off the drums....They are thick! The mixing of this record is awesome... Listen to 3 cuts of this...Are you jazz dancin'?
Holidays are now coming to a close... I've brought couples of good records from my Budapest trip, and will play a selection of Hungarian, Czech, Russian, Polish, Yougslav somewhere in september on the infamous Radio666!!! So stay tuned...
SUMMER TIME!
Opus Dopus moves to the east to recharge his batteries, we'll be back in september with more music. Meanwhile, here is a choice of eastern sounds for your ears. Happy holidays to everybody!!

Exploring African music tonight, from Nigeria, Gahna, Cameroun to Zambia and Guinéa. Moving from Trinidad, Bahamas to Guadeloupe and Martinique... What a plan! As usual, eclectism is the key word: boogie funk, afro beat, jazz, highlife, kinky psychedelic rock... Express yourself !

Outstanding Italian library here. Angel Gati (pianist)was a fan of Formula 1 races, particularly of the French superstars era with Jabouille, Prost and Arnoux. It's them who inspired "Pocho" to release this double lp in 1981. Some nifty jazz funk all over the first record, withrhodes, organs, synth, wah wah, horns, bass & drums and... some engines roars! i like this kind of cover art (by chance this is a gatefold sleeve), photos of R5, R18 turbo, R30 turbodiesel and R5 Alpine turbo. All the 80's French cars spirit is here! Listen to the grooviest tunes of TURBO MUSIC, we offer you 6 cuts of the 1st rec. Download here. Do you like it?

"My objective is to humanize electronic music" said Dick Hyman! Focus on the Moog maestro, and particularly on the titled track "the minotaur" from The electric eclectics of Dick Hyman LP. Four elements are involved in this remarkably rhythmic and melodic improvisation. First is the rythm unit which is blended of two: a bossa nova and a waltz. To this is added a drone effect, like a tambourine, played with the synthesizer. Then the repetitive bass line is laid in (and will resound in your head for hours!). Finally, the synth melody line. The style is a mixture of Indian and Greek musical influences. The germ of the idea for the solo melody came from a Greek record in Dick's collection! We come back next week with our radio program...
ANOTHER PROG' SPECIAL! 70's Starts with some funky italian prog', follows early Jean Michel Jarre, mystic French zeuhl, Canterbury's finest, Polish n' Russian hammond roar, finish with kraut.

FUNKEY MAKOSSA by Egide Sadey We will regularly post some records apart from our radio shows, some we like or some we think that are totally underrated. And let start with this one, a quite unknown "12 from EGIDE SADEY including three tracks "high emotion", "ghislaine" and the irresistible dancefloor gem "funkey makossa". Egide made four 7"inches when he lived in Cameroun, the first one "nassibi", was an appearance with a pretty famous band in his country, called the Black Tigers. He finally came to live in France in the early 80's, where he confronted his african influences to occidental jazz and funk... He recorded three 12" in France which encouter an average success! So he decided to get on his own, and with the help from his family, (his father was an experienced musician) and Patrick Mani (his producer), he finally brought out "funkey makossa"... for our listening pleasure! To see more interesting Afro Funk records, we suggest you to visit Nigeria funk forever . And now listern or download FUNKEY MAKOSSA!
